CTD#453: Distress Oxide Birthday Card using Lawn Fawn Happy, Happy Happy stamp set

Happy Friday!

I am back from vacation and ready to do this weeks Color Throwdown Challenge #453.
Slightly jet lagged but wanted to play so bad.

This weeks colors are Pink, Yellow and Green. I was inspired by a post on the Lawn Fawn Instagram page.

I wanted to play with my Distess Oxides. The background is not quite what I was picturing but after finished I figured would be good for a man card. Yeah it has some sequins but he will just have to get over it.. it's a birthday card and needs some sparkle.

I did the smooshing technique of putting color on the craft mat, spraying with water and smooshing the card stock into it. After each pounce I would dry with the heat tool. I used Abandoned Coral, Fossilized Amber and Lucky Clover Distrress Oxides.

The sentiments are in the same distress colors and I used the Lawn Fawn Happy, Happy Happy stamp set and dies.

Thank you for coming by and see you next time!

Hope card using the SSS Hope Blooms and Tropical Leaves Stamp Sets

Welcome Back
I am off in vacation in Hawaii so I could not do a Color Throwdown
this week but figured I'd share this tropical inspired card.

This was a fun card to stamp and watercolor.

I used the Simon Says Stamp Tropical Leaves stamp set and
stamped with Distress Inks. I knew the coverage on stamping would not be solid since Distress Inks but that's what I wanted. I stamped and then used a water brush to spread out the color.

Distress Inks Used:
Twisted Citron
Evergreen Bough
Mowed Lawn
Peeled Paint

I then splattered some of the same inks onto it.

The sentiment is from the SSS Hope Blooms stamp set and white heat embossed onto some black card stock.

The envelope is made from the same watercolor paper and I used the same colors to have it matching.

Thank you so much for coming by and I will see you next time.

Color Throw down #451 using Altenew Cube Builder

Happy Wednesday!

Today's Color Throwdown Challenge had some bright summery colors
of pink, dark pink, green and white.

I had gotten in my order of the new Distress Oxide Inks and I just had to play.
I also ordered the Altenew Cube Builder Set and knew I had to combine the two.

I used Candued Apple and Worn Lipstick for the pinks. I just couldn't find a good green. Lucky Clover was too green  and Peeled Paint was too yellowy so instead i first put down the Lucky Clover and went on top with the Peeled Paint. I loved how it turned out.

This stencil was just so fun to use and the result is just incredible!

After the stenciling was done I spritzed with some shimmer spray and water to get some oxidation and sparkle happening,

I used the Hooray Stamp set by Honey Bee Stamps and the coordinating Hooray Honey cut. The Happy birthday was from the same stamp set and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

I just couldn't leave well enough alone and had to add some sequins to it.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I may be doing a challenge submission next week but I am going on vacation so I shall see how my jet lag is when I come back!

ColorThrowdown #450 Using Avery Elle Shine Bright Stamp Set

Happy Wednesday!

I hope you all had a great 4th of July!

Today I have my submission to the Color Throwdown Challenge #450
The colors for the challenge are Red, White, Yellow and White.

I used one of my favorite stamp sets, the Avery Elle Shine Bright set, to make this card.

I stamped and heat embossed the light house with clear embossing powder.

I then watercolored it with distress inks. I used Candied Apple, Squeezed Lemonade, Fossilized Amber, and Black Soot.

I then used some Bristol Smooth Card Stock and ink blended Tumbled Glass for the sky and Salty Ocean for the water. I used Broken China Distress Oxide to stamp the waves.

I used Tea Dye to do a wash of color onto some water color paper. I just free hand cut out to make the sandy area.

I used the stitched rectangle die from my beloved MFT Blueprint 13 Die-namics to cut out the sand and the background piece.

There is a light shining stamp in the kit but i instead smoothed the Squeezed Lemonade onto some paper and then freehand cut it out like the stamp is but bigger. I then used some Wink of Stella onto the light to add some sparkle.

I used the clouds that came in the die set but I thought were too plain. I used the Marvy Snow pen to literally make those clouds puffy. this was my first time using it and man I was not disappointed!

As always, thank you so much for coming by and I will see you next time!
