Color Throwdown Challenge #449 using MFT Garden Flourish Background

Happy Challenge Day!

The colors for todays Color Throwdown #449 are Orange, Green and Brown.

I can't lie, when i saw the colors at first i was like...what the heck am I gonna make that is not gonna look like fall?
It may still look like a fall card but I love how it came out.

I first heat embossed the MFT Garden Flourish Background in white.
I then used Distress Oxide Inks in Orange Marmalade and Peeled paint to ink blend onto it.

I used a Paper Studios embossing folder to emboss onto some Kraft card stock in my stash.  I am not sure of the name but it is a bunch of circles and reminds me of bubbles.

I cut two thin strips of the same kraft card stock and then covered up the glue line from attaching the vellum to the distressed piece.

The sentiment is a die from the Avery Elle  A Tag for All Die Set. I used my Wink of Stella Glitter pen in clear to add some sparkle to the sentiment.

Thank you so much for checking out my submission for this weeks challenge
and I will see you next week!

I Miss You card using the My Favorite Things Sketchy Flowers card kit

Hello Again!
Happy Monday!

Today I have another card from the My Favorite Things Sketchy Flowers card kit.

The theme of this card is foam tape. I wanted to go nuts with the texture.
I saw a inspiration card on the MFT blog and I wanted to replicate but in my own way

I used the card stock in the kit to heat emboss the images with Ranger detail white embossing powder.

Some are flat on the card base and some popped up with foam squares.

The You is from the You Trio Die-namics set in the kit.  It is hard to see in the pics but I brushed some Wink of Stella on it to add some shimmer.

I used the banner die and the sentiment from the All About You stamp set that comes in the kit using the same embossing powder.

The envelope is from the kit as well and matches with the navy card stock used on the card.

Color Throwdown #448 using MFT Beautiful Blooms

Happy Wednesday!

Today I have the card I made for the Color Throwdown Challenge #448.
The colors this week are Purple, Hot Pink, Mint and Teal.

I wanted to use my new floral builder set from
My Favorite Things called Beautiful Blooms to make a thinking of you card for my mother in law.
I hate even calling her my mother in law....shes my Mom.

I used Distress Inks in Picked Raspberry, Cracked Pistachio, Wilted Violet and Broken China.
I stamped using the inks and then went over them with a water brush to fill in.
When all done I used Black Soot Distress Ink to add some splatter.

I die cut the piece using the rectangle die from the MFT Blueprints 13 Die-namics.  I matted it onto black card stock.

The sentiment came from the same set and I white heat embossed it onto some black card stock. I then popped it up with some foam tape.

I used the same flowers to add onto the envelope. I then added some Glimmer mist onto the card and envelope to add some sparkle. I admit I was a tad heavy handed with it on the envelope. Luckily was the envelope and not the card.

Thank you so much for stopping by and
I will see you next Wednesday for another Color Throwdown Challenge!

MFT Sushi Date Birthday Card

Hey Guys!

I just loved the March release from My Favorite Things. Pandas.....love, Sushi.....love, put them together....Uber Love!

This card was fun to make because gave me a chance to do a lot of coloring with my Spectrum Noir markers. I still need some practice but I am happy with the outcome.

I literally stamped, die cut and colored every image from the stamp set.

I ink blended the background with worn lipstick Distress Oxide ink and then splattered with water to get the splotchy effect. I attached the lantern to the bamboo with some light grey embroidery floss so that it looked like it was hanging.

The sentiment is from the stamp set and I heat embossed it with Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder onto some black card stock.

I used the remaining images on the inside and stamped the Happy Birthday from the MFT Essential Sentiments stamp set in Versafine Black Ink.

See you next time!!

Color Throwdown Challenge #447 using SSS Emma Background and Distress Watercoloring

Happy Thursday!

I couldn't make my card yesterday for the throw down since I went to  U-pik farm and picked a ton of veggies. I am not kidding I was washing, prepping and freezing all day long.

I was so tickled on Monday because I was recognized for the card I made for Challenge #446.
Who me? That just made me so excited and spurred me to keep doing these challenges!

The Color Throwdown Challenge #447 this week is Navy, Aqua, Light Blue and Kraft.

I was a tad stumped this week but decided to go back to what I love and do some water coloring onto a embossed background.

I white heat embossed the Simon Says Stamp Emma background onto some Bristol Smooth Card Stock.

I tried 3 times to do on water color paper and failed each time. I was careful to not use too much water on the Bristol and had no issues with pilling.

I used quite a bit of distress colors to mix up the brown and the light blue. I used Faded Jeans, Peacock Feathers, Broken China, Twisted Citron, Vintage Photo and Brushed Corduroy.

I cut out the background using the MFT Blueprints 13 Die-namics rectangle stitched die.

The sentiment is the SSS Happy Birthday Die. I cut it out twice and added Glossy accents to add some dimension and shine. I finished up by using some sequins to add some sparkle.

Thank you so much for coming by and I will see you next time!

MFT Sketchy Flowers Kit You are Fantastic Watercolor Card

Hey Guys,
Happy Saturday!

I got some time to play with the My Favorite Things Sketchy Flowers Card Kit.

I stamped the two flowers randomly on a piece of watercolor paper with Simon Says Stamp Intense Black ink. I then watercolored with the Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors.

I used the large rectangle die from the Blueprints 13 Die-namics set to cut out the background piece.

I used the black watercolor to make a washy looking gray to then cut the scripty You Die die.

I also used some dark gray card stock to cut the banner from. The sentiment also comes the kit names All About You. I heat embossed it with Ranger Detail White Embossing Powder.

Thanks for coming over and soon I will have another card I made from this great kit!

Color Throwdown Challenge #446 using the MFT Sketchy Flowers Card Kit

Happy Wednesday!

Today I have my submission for The Color Throwdown Challenge #446.

The colors for this week are Green, Yellow and Coral.

I have been playing with the My Favorite Things Sketchy Flowers Card Kit a bunch lately and just had to use it for this challenge.

I watercolored the flowers with Abandoned Coral, Twisted Citron, Cracked Pistachio and Mustard Seed Distress Inks.

I also used Black Soot Distress Ink to do the splatter.

I used the coordinating dies to cut them out and popped up a couple with some foam squares.

The sentiment banner, sentiment and You is also from the card kit.

The wood pattern paper is from a Joannes. It is from ms. sparkle & co. wood paper pad. It is a great pad and only $1.99!

I also used a white gel pen to add some dots to the flowers centers.

You can't tell in the pics but I used a Wink of Stella  glitter pen on the flowers and the YOU.

Thank you so much for coming by and I will see you next week!

Simon Says Blissful June Card Kit

Welcome Back!
Today I have a card I made using the Simon Says Stamp Blissful June Card Kit

A lot of people have been doing ones that show the flower cluster on both ends but they looked so good and had to do one myself

I stamped the images with the SSS Barely Beige ink that came in the kit.

I used a water brush and watercolored with the Daniel Smith Watercolor Palette in the kit. I only used this little palette for all the watercoloring, I had to mix some together to get different tones but it was a nice collection of colors to use.

I then took a piece of the watercolor paper and heat embossed Ranger Princess Gold onto it. I used the same powder to emboss the sentiment onto the black card stock.

The sentiment on the outside and inside was from the included SSS Floral Bliss Stamp Set.

I then put the watercolor piece onto a piece of the Echo Park Wedding Bliss Collection paper pack.

I stamped the flower cluster inside with the same SSS Barely Beige ink and then heat embossed the sentiment with the same Ranger embossing powder.

I then used the SSS Metallic Ivory Envelope and heat embossed the floral cluster to match the card.
Now I just need someone to get married!

Thank you for stopping by and I will see you next time!
