Color Throwdown #531 using Gina K Designs You Make Me Smile stamp set.

Happy Wednesday!

Today's post is using the colors for the Color Throwdown #531 which are Rust, Purple and Gray.

I was a a little perplexed at what I was gonna do but decided to play with some watercolors.

I used Distress Oxide Inks in Rusty Hinge, Wilted Violet and Hickory Smoke for the background.

I heat embossed the floral image from the Gina K Designs You Make Me Smile stamp set with white embossing powder.

I die cut the SSS Small Hello die 5 times from some gray card stock so that it was raised up and didn't get swallowed by the background.

The missing you sentiment is from the SSS Tiny Words stamp set and heat embossed with white embossing powder and popped up this time with thin foam tape.

I finished it off by putting on a gray card base and adding some Nuvo drops in Pale Perwinkle.

Thank you for visiting and hope to see you next time!

Color Throwdown #529 using SSS Best Ever

Happy Saturday!

Here is my submission for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge CTD#529.
The colors this week are Yellow, Orange and Red.

I was inspired by the design Kristina Werner used a few weeks back on her You Tube Channel.

I used Distress Oxide Inks in Mustard Seed, Carved Pumpkin and Candied Apple
for the blended background.

I used white embossing powder to heat emboss the heart images onto the background after was completely dry.

The larger heart image comes from the SSS Best Ever stamp set and
the tiny heat is from the SSS Birthday Numbers stamp set.

I used some embroidery floss in a deep orange like Kristina but omitted the bow.

The love die is the SSS LOVE wafer die and the smaller strip is from the SSS All My Love stamp set which was stamped with Candied Apple ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

Thank you for coming by!

Happy Saturday!

Its a new year and a new Color Throwdown Challenge.

The colors for the Color Throwdown Challenge #524 are Green, Yellow, Black and White.

I wanted to water color some flowers so I decided to use the
SSS Even More Spring Flowers stamp set.

I did some masking to keep it be a one layer card.

I stamped with Versafine ink and heat embossed with Hero Arts clear embossing powder.

I colored the images with Zig Clean Color Markers and a water brush pen.

I used :
No.40 Green
No. 41 Light Green
No. 50 Yellow
No. 52 Bright Yellow

The sentiment comes from SSS Beautiful Flowers stamp set and the Honey Bee Stamps Exclusive STAMPtember Tie One On stamp set.

I used Distress Oxide Ink to stamp the flower on the inside and used the green marker to ink the stamp for the leaves.
The sentiment on the inside is also from the SSS Beautiful Flowers set.

Color Throwdown #522 using SSS Comfort and Joy

Happy Friday!

I have my submission for the Color Throwdown Challenge #522.
The colors this week are Coral, Red, Green and Gray

I just got me the Tom Holtz trimmer so I wanted to cut up some paper and do some layering.

I used some gray card stock from my stash and heat embossed the SSS Christmas Sweater background with Ranger Red Geranium embossing powder.

I then layered  this green pattern paper.

I used the SSS Comfort and Joy stamp set for the sentiment and greenery.

I used Distress Oxide Inks in Abandoned Coral and Candied Apple to make the sentiment have a gradient look when I stamped it.

The greenery was stamped with Memento Ink in Bamboo Leaves.

I also added some berries with the Nuvo Jewel Drops in Rosewater to give another touch of a coral like color and it added some dimension.

Thank you so much for visiting and have a great day!
Till next time!

Happy Saturday!

I was a tad intimidated by this weeks Color Throwdown Challenge #521

I really wanted to use the new stamps I got and luckily worked out!

I used the SSS Poinsetta Background stamp with Ranger Silver Embossing Powder onto some Gray cardstock. I cut it out with the stitched rectangle die from the MFT Blueprints 13 Die-namics.

The beautiful sentiment is from the Mama Elephant Sending Hugs stamp set and also embossed with the Silver Embossing Powder.

I popped the sentiment panel up with the SSS big Momma Foam Tape and  mounted the whole piece on a white card base.
I then finished off with some Nuvo Jewel Drops in Grey Mist  to add some shine.

Color Throwdown #517 using the Lori Whitlock A2 Flexi Card

Happy Friday!

Here is my submission for this weeks Color Throwdown #517 Challenge this week.

The colors this week are Orange, Kraft, Red and Aqua.

I adore this Lori Whitlock A2 Flexi card design I got from the Silhouette Design Store.

I only used the colored red card stock for the card base and used Kraft for the trees and sign.

Everything else was ink blended with Distress Inks and Distress Oxide Inks.

I used the Tim Holtz Lumber 3D Texture Fades Embossing Folder on the trees fence and sign back to add some fun texture.

I altered the image just a tad and added a bunch more leaves to add some more color on the inside panel.

I used Gina K Connect glue to attach everything.

I just love how this card can be mailed flat and then have so much dimension when the receiver puts together!

Thank you so much for visiting and I will see you next time!

Happy Wednesday!

The Color Throwdown colors this week are Pink, Green, Kraft and White.
A friend at work and I show a love of otters so of course I had to make her a otter Christmas card.

I used colored pencils to color in the otters which I stamped onto the Kraft card stock and cut out with the coordinating dies.

I used some pattern paper and glitter card stock from the SSS Milk and Cookies card kit.
The snowflakes are from a Sizzix Thinlits die set.
It is hard to see in pic but I used the Wink of Stella Glitter Brush pen to add some sparkle.

Color Throwdown #461 featuring Crazy Dogs stamp set

Hey All,
It has been a while since my last post and I apologize. My MacBook Pro is causing me to go crazy cause the screen is not working. I am using a Windows laptop till I can try to fix it and I am just not used to it.
I do tech support for cellphones as my day job and have patience all day. When it comes to me and a computer....I have none!

Anywho... here is my submission for this weeks Color Throwdown #461.
The colors this week were Purple, Green, Yellow and Orange. Those colors scream Halloween to me.

I used a Simon Says Stamp Diamond Circles Stencil and ink blened with Distress Inks, I used Carved Pumpkin , Wilted Violet, Mustard Seed and Lucky Clover.

All of the Elements and Sentiment are from the Stampers Anonymous Crazy Dogs, Crazy Things and Crazy Talk Stamp Sets. I colored all the images with the same Distress Ink Color plus Black Soot.

Thank you so much for coming by and see you next time!!

Color Throw down #451 using Altenew Cube Builder

Happy Wednesday!

Today's Color Throwdown Challenge had some bright summery colors
of pink, dark pink, green and white.

I had gotten in my order of the new Distress Oxide Inks and I just had to play.
I also ordered the Altenew Cube Builder Set and knew I had to combine the two.

I used Candued Apple and Worn Lipstick for the pinks. I just couldn't find a good green. Lucky Clover was too green  and Peeled Paint was too yellowy so instead i first put down the Lucky Clover and went on top with the Peeled Paint. I loved how it turned out.

This stencil was just so fun to use and the result is just incredible!

After the stenciling was done I spritzed with some shimmer spray and water to get some oxidation and sparkle happening,

I used the Hooray Stamp set by Honey Bee Stamps and the coordinating Hooray Honey cut. The Happy birthday was from the same stamp set and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

I just couldn't leave well enough alone and had to add some sequins to it.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I may be doing a challenge submission next week but I am going on vacation so I shall see how my jet lag is when I come back!

Color Throwdown Challenge #449 using MFT Garden Flourish Background

Happy Challenge Day!

The colors for todays Color Throwdown #449 are Orange, Green and Brown.

I can't lie, when i saw the colors at first i was like...what the heck am I gonna make that is not gonna look like fall?
It may still look like a fall card but I love how it came out.

I first heat embossed the MFT Garden Flourish Background in white.
I then used Distress Oxide Inks in Orange Marmalade and Peeled paint to ink blend onto it.

I used a Paper Studios embossing folder to emboss onto some Kraft card stock in my stash.  I am not sure of the name but it is a bunch of circles and reminds me of bubbles.

I cut two thin strips of the same kraft card stock and then covered up the glue line from attaching the vellum to the distressed piece.

The sentiment is a die from the Avery Elle  A Tag for All Die Set. I used my Wink of Stella Glitter pen in clear to add some sparkle to the sentiment.

Thank you so much for checking out my submission for this weeks challenge
and I will see you next week!

Color Throwdown Challenge #447 using SSS Emma Background and Distress Watercoloring

Happy Thursday!

I couldn't make my card yesterday for the throw down since I went to  U-pik farm and picked a ton of veggies. I am not kidding I was washing, prepping and freezing all day long.

I was so tickled on Monday because I was recognized for the card I made for Challenge #446.
Who me? That just made me so excited and spurred me to keep doing these challenges!

The Color Throwdown Challenge #447 this week is Navy, Aqua, Light Blue and Kraft.

I was a tad stumped this week but decided to go back to what I love and do some water coloring onto a embossed background.

I white heat embossed the Simon Says Stamp Emma background onto some Bristol Smooth Card Stock.

I tried 3 times to do on water color paper and failed each time. I was careful to not use too much water on the Bristol and had no issues with pilling.

I used quite a bit of distress colors to mix up the brown and the light blue. I used Faded Jeans, Peacock Feathers, Broken China, Twisted Citron, Vintage Photo and Brushed Corduroy.

I cut out the background using the MFT Blueprints 13 Die-namics rectangle stitched die.

The sentiment is the SSS Happy Birthday Die. I cut it out twice and added Glossy accents to add some dimension and shine. I finished up by using some sequins to add some sparkle.

Thank you so much for coming by and I will see you next time!
