Color Throwdown #521 using SSS Poinsettia Background and Mama Elephant Sending Hugs

Happy Saturday!

I was a tad intimidated by this weeks Color Throwdown Challenge #521
The colors this week are Silver Black Gray and White.

I really wanted to use the new stamps I got and luckily worked out!

I used the SSS Poinsetta Background stamp with Ranger Silver Embossing Powder onto some Gray cardstock. I cut it out with the stitched rectangle die from the MFT Blueprints 13 Die-namics.

The beautiful sentiment is from the Mama Elephant Sending Hugs stamp set and also embossed with the Silver Embossing Powder.

I popped the sentiment panel up with the SSS big Momma Foam Tape and  mounted the whole piece on a white card base.
I then finished off with some Nuvo Jewel Drops in Grey Mist  to add some shine.

Thank you so much for stopping by!
See you next time!

Guest Star Stamper for Color Throwdown #493

Hey Guys!

I am super excited to be sharing the card I made for being the Guest Star Stamper after
being chosen in the CTD#491 challenge!

I was so happy when I saw the colors for this week weeks challenge CTD#493

They are my fave color combos....Aqua, Lime and White

I white heat embossed the Simon Says Stamp Center Cut Flowers Stamp onto some watercolor paper.

I used Distress Oxide Inks in Twisted Citron and Peacock Feathers
to water color in the flower and leaves.

I wanted to make the flowers pop so I added a bit of Hickory Smoke onto the background.
I cut the piece out using the MFT Blueprints 13 Die-Namics.

The Thanks sentiment is from the Simon Says Stamp Big Thanks Die.
I cut the shadow from vellum and the word from Neenah Metallic card stock in white gold.

I had to add some sparkle with the Studio Katia Sparkling Crystals.

I used the center part of the stamp to ink the inside of the card using
 Simon Says Stamp Fog ink.

Thank you so very much for visiting and I hope to see you next week for the next challenge!

Distress Oxide Water Painting with MFT All About You

Hi!
I fell in love with a technique Jennifer McGuire did of water painting with Distress Oxides.

I just loved how going over the images with the water gave them
this ethereal look like they are glowing.

I made these cards to give to some family and close friends for Mothers Day.

I used the exact technique Jennifer did of setting up my mini Misti with the images on one side then rotating 90 degrees to stamp the other to have symmetrical.

I used the Simon Says Stamp Spring Flowers and More Spring Flowers stamp sets.
I heat embossed them with Ranger white embossing powder.

The purple on left was ink blended with Distress oxides in Shaded Lilac in the center and Wilted Violet to the edges. I then took Seedless preserves to darken up the edges just a tad.

The reddish orange one was done with aa combo of Abandoned Coral and Candied Apple.

I water painted all the images and dabbed off to make lighter and then went back and painted in with the Shaded Lilac and Squeezed Lemonade

The sentiments are from the MFT All About You stamp set and Dies. I used a Wink of Stella pen to add some shimmer to the You sentiments and added some Nuvo Jewel drops in Pale Periwinkle and Limencello to add some dimension and interest.

Thank you so much for visiting and I hope to see you next time!

Color Throwdown #487 using Alcohol Inks

Happy Monday!

Today I have my submission for the Color Throwdown Challenge #487.

The colors this week were mint, red and pink.

I first made the alcohol ink background using Pink Sherbet, Patina and Crimson Ranger Alcohol Inks.

I also used a ink I made from a neon pink sharpie.

I cute it out using the MFT Blueprints Die-namics 13 rectangle die.

I made the sentiment by cutting and attaching about 6 of the Neat and Tangled Awesome sentiment. The top one got a layer of the Wink of Stella Glitter brush pen in white.

The You Are part was from a MFT All About You stamp set and white heat embossed onto some black card stock.

Thank you for checking out my submission and I will see you next time.

Valentines Card using Avery Elle Lava You Stamp Set

Happy Wednesday!

Are you ready for Valentines Day?

I don't ask for flowers or anything but...since I make cards I do ask that he just get that since of course I will be making him one.  Only fair right?

We love Hawaii and went to Maui on our honeymoon.
When I saw this Lava You stamp set by Avery Elle I had to get it.

I started off by stamping the volcano onto some Bristol Smooth paper. I wanted the explosive hearts to be a bigger spray so I just wiped the ink of the volcano part and stamped again. I added in some extra hearts to make fuller.

I used Distress Inks to water color everything in.

The background uses Salty Ocean and Tumbled Glass.

The volcano was Brushed Corduroy with Ground Espresso and Candied Apple for the Lava with a little more Brushed Corduroy to darken up.

The hearts were colored with Candied Apple, Abandoned Coral and Worn Lipstick.

I used the MFT Blueprints Die-namics 13 rectangle die to cut the panel out.

I popped it onto a card base that I inked with Candied Apple and distressed with water.

The final touch was adding Glossy Accents onto all the hearts to make them shine!

Thank you so very much for checking this card out and
I hope you have a fantastic Valentines Day!

Alcohol Ink Birthday Card using SSS Tropical Leaves stamp set

Happy Tuesday!

Today I have a card that I made for my Fathers birthday that was yesterday.
He always encourages me to try new things and alcohol inks was one of them.

I of course had to make his card from one of the backgrounds I made.
He loves Green so I used Lettuce and Citrus Ranger Alcohol inks for the below background.

My dad also loves Hawaii so I used the Simon Says Stamp
Tropical Leaves stamp set to stamp the leaves and heat emboss with Ranger Silver embossing powder.

The You is from the Simon Says Stamp You Matter set and the Happy Birthday to is from the MFT All About You stamp set. I again heat embossed with that silver embossing powder onto Recollections dark gray card stock.

Thank you so much for coming by and I hope to see you next time!

Birthday Card using Alcohol Ink and SSS Cora Background

Hello!

This is a card I made for a close friend of mine.
She loves Rose Gold so of course I had to try to make a card with those cards.

I used Pink Sherbet and Pearl Alcohol Inks for the background and then heat embossed the SSS Cora background in Ranger Princess Gold embossing powder.

I used the MFT Blueprints 13 Die-namics  stitched rectangle die and put onto a white note card.

I used a sentiment from the Silhouette Design store. I first gold embossed some white card stock and then cut out on the machine.

I added some Wink of Stella onto the white of the notecard and the "shadow" of the sentiment.

I hope to see you next time and till then,
Have a great day!

Zig water colored Fractile Leaves

Happy Thanksgiving Eve!

Today I have another Thanksgiving card. I am new to card making and stamping but man it is rare to find Thanksgiving stamps. I do apologize in advance because you will be seeing cards using the same two stamp sets. They both happen to be of leaves.

I am using the SSS Fractile Leaves stamp set.
I heat embossed the leaves onto some Kraft cardstock using Ranger Princess Gold Embossing Powder.

I then water colored using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers in a variety of greens, reds and yellows. I cut the panel using the MFT Die-namics Blueprints 13 rectangle die. I matted it on some Rusty colored cardstock.

The sentiment is from the SSS Ornate Leaves stamp set. I heat embossed it onto a strip of vellum and accented the strip with a uncolored leaf.

Thank you for coming by and see you next time!

Thank You Card using SSS Emma background and Distress Inks

Hey Ya'll

Today I have a Thank You card to show you.
Man I just love Distress Inks with embossed resist background.

I first heat embossed the Simon Says Stamp Emma background stamp with Ranger Liquid Platinum embossing powder.

I used Peacock Feathers and Salty Ocean to smoosh the background into .

In between the pouncing I would dry the background to get better definition without muddling all together. I used my fave rectangle stitched die from the MFT Die-namics Blueprints 13.

I used my Silhouette to create the sentiment. I used the Lucinda Handwriting font, welded the letters together and then did a offset of 1.00 that I cut from some vellum.

I put the background onto some shimmery card stock I got from Michaels and then put onto a Neenah  110 lb card base.

See you next time!

MFT Weekly Sketch Challenge using Otterly Love You Stamp and Die Set

Hello Again!

I have a new Challenge Today.
I love My Favorite Things Stamps and Dies and decided to try my hand at their card sketch challenge.

Here is the Sketch for this Weeks Challenge #344

Sketch Challenge 344 #mftstamps
I made the banner style shape by cutting on my trimmer and using the stich die in the MFT Die-namics Blueprints 13 set.

I ink blended Salty Ocean and Broken China Oxide Inks and then used a Distress Sprayer to add the water for a ocean like background. I then sprayed some Glimmer Mist on it to add some sparkle.

The images and sentiment come from the MFT Otterly Love You Stamp and Die set.

I colored them with Spectrum Noir Markers.  The sentiment was stamped onto some random pattern paper I had and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

After everything was assembled I used some glossy accents on the otter noses and to make some bubbles for the fish.

Thank you for coming by and I will see you next time!

Color Throwdown #448 using MFT Beautiful Blooms

Happy Wednesday!

Today I have the card I made for the Color Throwdown Challenge #448.
The colors this week are Purple, Hot Pink, Mint and Teal.

I wanted to use my new floral builder set from
My Favorite Things called Beautiful Blooms to make a thinking of you card for my mother in law.
I hate even calling her my mother in law....shes my Mom.

I used Distress Inks in Picked Raspberry, Cracked Pistachio, Wilted Violet and Broken China.
I stamped using the inks and then went over them with a water brush to fill in.
When all done I used Black Soot Distress Ink to add some splatter.

I die cut the piece using the rectangle die from the MFT Blueprints 13 Die-namics.  I matted it onto black card stock.

The sentiment came from the same set and I white heat embossed it onto some black card stock. I then popped it up with some foam tape.

I used the same flowers to add onto the envelope. I then added some Glimmer mist onto the card and envelope to add some sparkle. I admit I was a tad heavy handed with it on the envelope. Luckily was the envelope and not the card.

Thank you so much for stopping by and
I will see you next Wednesday for another Color Throwdown Challenge!

MFT Sushi Date Birthday Card

Hey Guys!

I just loved the March release from My Favorite Things. Pandas.....love, Sushi.....love, put them together....Uber Love!

This card was fun to make because gave me a chance to do a lot of coloring with my Spectrum Noir markers. I still need some practice but I am happy with the outcome.

I literally stamped, die cut and colored every image from the stamp set.

I ink blended the background with worn lipstick Distress Oxide ink and then splattered with water to get the splotchy effect. I attached the lantern to the bamboo with some light grey embroidery floss so that it looked like it was hanging.

The sentiment is from the stamp set and I heat embossed it with Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder onto some black card stock.

I used the remaining images on the inside and stamped the Happy Birthday from the MFT Essential Sentiments stamp set in Versafine Black Ink.

See you next time!!

MFT Sketchy Flowers Kit You are Fantastic Watercolor Card

Hey Guys,
Happy Saturday!

I got some time to play with the My Favorite Things Sketchy Flowers Card Kit.

I stamped the two flowers randomly on a piece of watercolor paper with Simon Says Stamp Intense Black ink. I then watercolored with the Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors.

I used the large rectangle die from the Blueprints 13 Die-namics set to cut out the background piece.

I used the black watercolor to make a washy looking gray to then cut the scripty You Die die.

I also used some dark gray card stock to cut the banner from. The sentiment also comes the kit names All About You. I heat embossed it with Ranger Detail White Embossing Powder.

Thanks for coming over and soon I will have another card I made from this great kit!

Avery Elle Shine Bright Birthday and Sympathy Cards

Hello!

Today I have two cards using the fantastic Avery Elle Shine Bright stamp set
with the coordinating dies.

I got the set cause my Mother in Law loves lighthouses and knew would be perfect for her.

I blended  Distress Ink in Seedless Preserve for the sky , Fossilized Amber for the light coming from the lighthouse and a mixture of  Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean for the water.
I stamped the waves from the set also using distress ink in Broken China .

I used Tea Dye distress ink for the sand section and stamped with the same color for the rock like images.

I used the same colors for the water but added Chipped Saphhire to make it more of a nighttime sky.
I made the "light" more subdue but was also using Fossilized Amber but just no as heavy and was onto of the Seedless Preserves.

I used the following Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers to color in all the images.

I made a coordinating envelope for the birthday card to make it a fun addition to the card.

I left this envelope plain due to being a sympathy card but
loved the dark teal color to go with the card.

These were my first cards using my new set of Spectrum Noir Markers and I fell in love with them!

Thank you for visiting and I will see you next time!

MFT You Trio Die-namics and All About You Shaker card for the Color Throwdown #444 Using MFT

Happy Thursday!

I have another card for the Color Throwdown Challenge.

This weeks colors are Green , Grey and White.

I wanted to try my hand at what Jennifer McGuire showed
with using strips of card stock to make your own pattern paper.

I first used Distress inks in Pine Needles and Hickory Smoke to ink blended onto some Bristol Smooth paper and then spritzed some water to get the splotches.

I then cut it up in random sizes and attached to a card base with some tape adhesive.
I then cut it out with the large rectangle stitched die from the MFT Blueprints 13 set.

I cut out the YOU using the You Trio Die set from the MFT Sketchy Flowers Card Kit.

I also used the free with $60 banner dies to heat emboss the sentiment onto.
I also used the All About You stamp set from the same card kit.

I made the YOU be the shaker part and filled with some random white sequins, seed beads and silver chunky glitter.

Thank you so much for visiting and I will see you next week for another challenge!!

Simon Says Stamp Flora Background and Honey Bee Stamps Hooray Card

Hello Again!

Today I have a card that was a result of me just playing with some new stuff I got.  My birthday was in April and I had gotten me some fun things from Simon Says Stamp and Honey Bee Stamps.

I had gotten some Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder
on clearance at Hobby Lobby and just had to use it.

I used versa mark to stamp the SSS Flora Background stamp onto some Bristol Smooth paper and heat embossed with that beautiful Platinum Embossing Powder.

I then used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers for the water colors. i would just add some color and pull out with a water brush.

I then used some Velum to die cut the shadow of the Honey Bee Stamps Hooray Die,
which was cut from black card stock.

I just love the colors of the watercoloring with the black and platinum.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Sunny Studios Daffodil Dreams Mother's Day Card

Happy Friday!

I have another card using the Sunny Studios Daffodil Dreams layering stamp set.
Daffodils are my favorite flowers so I loved playing with this set.

This is my first layering set and I really thought I would have to use a  different color for each layer.
Through playing I found that is not necessarily true.

This stamp has three layers to them and found that if I stamped twice
with the same color it made it out like I used a third ink color!

Guess what? Unlike last time, I know the Memento Dew Drop ink colors I used in this card.

First Layer: Dandelion
Second Layer: Stamped twice with Dandelion
Third Layer: Cantaloupe

The leaves were stamped with Pear Tart and New Sprout.

I used the MFT Die-namics Blueprints 13 for the the stiched rectangle white base.
I then used the MFT Rectangle Peek a Boo Window Dienamics to make a focal window. I then put some glittery tulle behind the window and then another piece of white card stock behind it.
I tucked the flowers that I fussy cut out behind the bottom of the window.

I used some pattern paper from my stash for that yellow border and then added some iridescent sequins for some sparkle.

The sentiment is from the Lawn Fawn Happy Happy Happy stamp set.

I also used the dandelion on the envelope  but since the envelope was so yellow I used Cantaloupe as the first two layers and Tangelo as the third layer.

Thank you so much for coming by to check this card out
and I will see you next time!

Simon Says Stamp Some Bunny March Card Kit Post 4

Welcome Back!!

I have two more today that are having a focus on that great Echo Park pattern paper that came with the kit.
I kept things fairly simple with these two and wanted to showcase the paper.
I again used sentiments from the Simon Says Stamp Some Bunny stamp set that was in the kit and stamped with Versafine ink and heat embossed with Recollections Clear embossing powder.

I loved that carrot paper and just had to pair it with another bunny. I made him more on the darker side this time and again used the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers for the water coloring on him.
I stamped the sentiment onto this circle and the background burst from the
MFT Blueprints Die-namics 13 set.  I had to cut apart the stamp to get it to fit. I also used some Nuvo Jewel Drops in Orange Marmalade.

Similar concept with this card with just layering up that great pattern paper.
I used the same circle and burst to put the sentiment onto.
The Chickie is also colored using the zig markers and hard to see but completely coved in Wink of Stella.
I have the sentiment and chick popped up using foam tape. I had to fussy cut the body and stamp just the legs onto the paper.
I used some Nuvo Jewel Drops in Limoncello as accents.
