Birthday Card using the Hero Arts My Monthly Hero April Card Kit

Happy Tuesday!
I am excited to share this card I made using the April Hero Arts My Monthly Hero card kit.

This was not what I thought I was making when started but I was really happy with how it came out.

I had first ink blended the Hero Arts Fiesta Teal and Fiesta Yellow inks. I thought I was using Bristol card stock but realized the ink was just sitting on top. Realized that in fact it was some Yupo paper.

I thought, no worries, I will just then use some Alcohol Inks on top and make it work.  I actually like how the alcohol inks reacted with the inks that were already on the paper.

Alcohol Inks Used:
Purple Twilight
Turqoise
Rose Gold Mixative

All of the images come from the stamp set in the kit and were colored used Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.

I cut the Ornate Floral Border Die from some dark gray card stock.  I attached it to the background only on the edges so that the floral bit were not flat and raised up a little bit.

I heat embossed the sentiment using watering can embossing powder and got the paper a tad hot and it puckered a bit.
You know I am not starting over so instead I attached hose two flower images to cover the boo boo.

Thank you so much for visiting and I hope to see you next time!

Alcohol Ink Thank You Card for Color Throwdown Challenge #488

Happy Monday!
The colors for this weeks Color Throwdown Challenge are Yellow, Green, Aqua and White.
I had gotten a pad of Yupo paper and man what a difference it is to the alcohol ink paper.

I could make the inks move soooo much better so I have a few cards I made with alcohol inks.

Ranger Alcohol Inks:
Botanical
Dandelion
Mermaid

I cut it out using the MFT Blueprints 13 rectangle die.

I used the Simon Says Stamp BIG THANKS Wafer Die to cut out of two different Neenah Metallic  card stock inWhite Gold and Champagne Gold.

It felt a tad plain so I added some Studio Katia Sparkling Crystals to give it some sparkle.

I hope you have a great day and see you next time!!

Alcohol Ink Birthday Card using SSS Flora Background

Today I have a card I made for my Sister in Law for her Birthday.
My new fave technique is using alcohol inks

Dont quote me but pretty sure the inks I used were Mermaid Wild Plum and Pink Sherbet.  At the time I was just playing around and not thinking I would need to remember.

I then heat embossed the SSS Flora Background using Ranger Silver embossing powder.
I cut out using the stitched rectangle die from the MFT Blueprints 13 Die-namics.

I used the banner die in the same set for the sentiment.

I created the sentiment in the Silhouette Design Studio. I then added a little sparkle with some silver sequins.

Thank you for coming brand see you next time!

Alcohol Ink Birthday Card using SSS Tropical Leaves stamp set

Happy Tuesday!

Today I have a card that I made for my Fathers birthday that was yesterday.
He always encourages me to try new things and alcohol inks was one of them.

I of course had to make his card from one of the backgrounds I made.
He loves Green so I used Lettuce and Citrus Ranger Alcohol inks for the below background.

My dad also loves Hawaii so I used the Simon Says Stamp
Tropical Leaves stamp set to stamp the leaves and heat emboss with Ranger Silver embossing powder.

The You is from the Simon Says Stamp You Matter set and the Happy Birthday to is from the MFT All About You stamp set. I again heat embossed with that silver embossing powder onto Recollections dark gray card stock.

Thank you so much for coming by and I hope to see you next time!

Christmas Cards using Alcohol Inks

Happy Thursday!

Today I have some cards I made while playing for the first time with the
Ranger Tim Holtz Alcohol Inks.

I got the starter kit that came with Red Pepper, Stream and Sunshine Yellow. It also had the Gold Mixative and some Blending Solution.

These cards are made just with the Red Pepper, Stream and Gold Mixative.

This was my first time using these inks so I really was just playing with no rhyme or reason.

After they all dried I used some awesome Simon Says Stamp background stamps.
The Merry and Bright card is using the Kaleidoscope Background and the  other two used the Kaleidoscope Leaves Background. I heat embossed using Ranger Princess Gold Embossing Powder.

The sentiments were all embossed onto some vellum with the Ranger Princess Gold Embossing Powder. The sentiments came from My favorite thins Handwritten Holiday and Warm Holiday Wishes stamp sets.

Thank you so much for checking these out and I hope to see you on the next one!
