Color Throwdown Challenge #490 using SSS Everything Together Stamp Set.

Hope you are having a great Sunday.

Today I am posting my submission for the Color Throwdown Challenge #490.

The colors this week are pink, green, lavender and light gray.

I had fun creating this card because at first I was like what the heck am I gonna make since I rarely use light pastel type colors.

I just got the SSS Everything Together stamp set and knew it would be perfect after I watched Nichol Spohr's video using the set.

The stamp set is included in the May SSS Kind Heart card kit.

I stamped the images with Memento inks in Angel Pink, New Sprout, London Fog and LuLu Lavender.

I put the background onto some Neenah Metallic Card stock in Chalice Silver.

I kept it really simple this week but really loved how it came out and gave me courage to use some pastels!

Have a great rest of your weekend and I will see you next time!

Another Birthday Card using the Hero Arts My Monthly Hero April Card Kit

Hello Again!

Here is another birthday card using the Hero Arts My Monthly Hero April Card Kit.

I was trying a technique that Jennifer McGuire had of inking up  some card stock with Distress Oxide Ink and then spritzing a stencil with water and then leave on top. Her examples were just magical on how it showed the stencil. Mine... not so much.

I was still gonna use it so I used various images from the stamp set  and colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.

The sentiment flourish bits are also from the same stamp set.

I used my go to embellishment of some Nuvo Jewel Drops to add some interest.

I had a extra image that I added to the inside.

Thank you for visiting!

Birthday Card using the Hero Arts My Monthly Hero April Card Kit

Happy Tuesday!
I am excited to share this card I made using the April Hero Arts My Monthly Hero card kit.

This was not what I thought I was making when started but I was really happy with how it came out.

I had first ink blended the Hero Arts Fiesta Teal and Fiesta Yellow inks. I thought I was using Bristol card stock but realized the ink was just sitting on top. Realized that in fact it was some Yupo paper.

I thought, no worries, I will just then use some Alcohol Inks on top and make it work.  I actually like how the alcohol inks reacted with the inks that were already on the paper.

Alcohol Inks Used:
Purple Twilight
Turqoise
Rose Gold Mixative

All of the images come from the stamp set in the kit and were colored used Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.

I cut the Ornate Floral Border Die from some dark gray card stock.  I attached it to the background only on the edges so that the floral bit were not flat and raised up a little bit.

I heat embossed the sentiment using watering can embossing powder and got the paper a tad hot and it puckered a bit.
You know I am not starting over so instead I attached hose two flower images to cover the boo boo.

Thank you so much for visiting and I hope to see you next time!

Fiesta TIme Card using the Hero Arts My Monthly Hero April Card Kit

Happy Friday!
Today I have a card I made using the
Hero Arts My Monthly Hero April Card Kit.
This was my first card kit from Hero Arts and definitely not the last.

I first made the black and white background but then as stamping I made a stamping boo boo and needed to fix.

I decided to cut off the part at a angle and attach it to a piece a created by blending the Fiesta Yellow and Fiesta Red inks that came in the kit.
Since they are a reactive ink I flicked some water on to it.

All of the images and sentiment come form the stamp set in the kit. I colored them using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Marker.

I am happy that the accident happened because I never would have had to improvise to create this!
I love the contrast of the black and white section to the colorful upper piece.

See you next time!

A Toast to You Card

Welcome Back!

I like to make cards with my Silhouette Cameo 3.

I have had this Snapdragon Snippets card design for a while but no reason to make...till now.
A friend of mine got a new job and knew this would be the perfect card.

I just love the interactive element of the toast coming out of the toaster.

I don't know what is going with my machine but the auto blade kept changing while cutting then just making this god awful grinding noise.

After way too long and many curse words I got the pieces cut.

I did use some distress oxides to color in the toast and the darker mint color.

I had to fix a ink boo boo so I added some grey mist Nuvo Jewel Drops in grey mist.

Thanks so much for stopping by and see you next time!

Alcohol Ink Thank You Card for Color Throwdown Challenge #488

Happy Monday!
The colors for this weeks Color Throwdown Challenge are Yellow, Green, Aqua and White.
I had gotten a pad of Yupo paper and man what a difference it is to the alcohol ink paper.

I could make the inks move soooo much better so I have a few cards I made with alcohol inks.

Ranger Alcohol Inks:
Botanical
Dandelion
Mermaid

I cut it out using the MFT Blueprints 13 rectangle die.

I used the Simon Says Stamp BIG THANKS Wafer Die to cut out of two different Neenah Metallic  card stock inWhite Gold and Champagne Gold.

It felt a tad plain so I added some Studio Katia Sparkling Crystals to give it some sparkle.

I hope you have a great day and see you next time!!

Color Throwdown #487 using Alcohol Inks

Happy Monday!

Today I have my submission for the Color Throwdown Challenge #487.

The colors this week were mint, red and pink.

I first made the alcohol ink background using Pink Sherbet, Patina and Crimson Ranger Alcohol Inks.

I also used a ink I made from a neon pink sharpie.

I cute it out using the MFT Blueprints Die-namics 13 rectangle die.

I made the sentiment by cutting and attaching about 6 of the Neat and Tangled Awesome sentiment. The top one got a layer of the Wink of Stella Glitter brush pen in white.

The You Are part was from a MFT All About You stamp set and white heat embossed onto some black card stock.

Thank you for checking out my submission and I will see you next time.

5 Year Old Birthday Card made with Silhouette Cameo

Hey!!
Today is a card I made for my great friend  Brandi's son's  5th birthday.

I want to get back to making more cards using my Silhouette Cameo.
I found this file in the Design Store and thought would be fun since its 3D.

I cut it first just from some white card stock and then I tweaked the file and cut out the front panel from some pattern paper in my stash.

I attached it to the base with a offset since I just like the way the white was peeking out and like using as a highlight to the sentiment.

I had these balloons in my library and wanted to add them to make it more colorful and fun.

I cut them also out of white card stock and then I ink blended with Distress Oxide Inks

I only used two of the three layers of the balloons and just made sure to use the lighter ink on the bottom layer.

I mounted onto some off white like card stock in my stash.

The images with all colored in with my Zig Clean Color Markers and just added some glossy accents to the cans and the heart.
