Color Throwdown #515 using Concord and 9th Wreath Turnabout Stamp

Happy Wednesday!

I have another submission for this weeks Color Throwdown #515.

The colors this week are Green, Kraft and White.

I used the Concord and 9th Wreath Turnabout Stamp with Distress Oxides on Kraft card stock.

Distress Oxides Used:
Lucky Clover
Mowed Lawn
Twisted Citron
Crushed Olive

The Twisted Citron and Crushed Olive were too light so I first stamped with Hero Arts Unicorn White pigment ink. I dried it then stamped on top with the Distress Ink  to make it brighter.

The sentiment comes from the same stamp set and is heat embossed on top with Ranger White Embossing Powder.

I used the Simon Says Stamp Big Momma Foam Tape to mount onto a white card base.

Thank you for coming over and see you later!

Distress Oxide Water Painting with W Plus 9 Beatiful Bouquets: Dahlias

Hello!
Today I have a Mothers Day card I made using a technique from  Jennifer McGuire and the floral and color inspiration from  Gina K

I just loved the colors and placement Gina used in that video and had to use Jennifers technique with the Oxides to color it.

I used the W plus 9 Beautiful Bouquets: Dahlias to stamp the images with Vesamark and heat emboss with white embossing powder.

I ink blended the images and background with Lucky Clover, Mermaid Lagoon and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide Inks.

I  went over the flowers and leaves with clear water and dabbed up with a paper towel to get a lighter look. I dried the piece and added just a tad more green to the leaves while still applying and dabbing.

The sentiment on outside comes from the SSS All My Love set and heat embossed onto some vellum.

I added some sequins to give some shine and also placed a tad bit of glitter glue to the centers to add some extra sparkle and make a bit stronger to go through the mail.

The inner sentiment is using the Lawn Fawn Happy Happy Happy stamp set. I used the same flower to stamp inside using the Peacock Feathers Ink.

Thank you so much for coming by and I will see you next time!

Color Throwdown #499 using Distress Resist Spray

Happy Monday!
I have my submission for the Color Throwdown Challenge #499.
The colors this week are yellow, green and blue.

I had gotten the Tim Holtz Distress Resist Spray in the Simon Says Stamp June Card Kit.

I read on the label about using with a stencil and I just had to try it.

I used the box that the card kit came in to spray paper. I still got some overspray on my mat but luckily it is glass and able to remove.

Make sure to instantly wash off the stencil after spraying.

I then ink blended on top with Distress Oxides in
Squeezed Lemonade, Lucky Clover and Blueprint Sketch.

I used a clean paper towel to buff off the ink on the splatter parts to make sure showed up with the white.

I then stamped the You from the SSS You Matter stamp set and heat embossed with some Wow embossing powder in black.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!

Daffodil Card using Silhouette Cameo 3 and Distress Oxides

Hey!!

Oh man April was not a great month for my Silhouette Cameo 3.
No matter what I put the blade at or settings in the Studio software the machine would go crazy and cut like it was cutting through chipboard.

I went though 3 reps and new cutting strips and blades and then finally got the replacement machine sent and it worked!!!
This was the first card I made and I was stoked!!

I love daffodils and I had to get this file when I saw it in the Design Store.

I cut all the parts from white cardstock and then Colored with Distress Oxide Inks.

I finally shed off with some Nuvo Jewel Drops in Grey Mist.

Distress Oxides:
Salty Ocean
Squeezed Lemonade
Carved Pumpkin
Lucky Clover

Thank you for stopping by and see you next time!!

Color Throwdown #454 using Tim Holtz Crazy Dogs and Crazy Talk

Happy Wednesday!

Todays Color Throwdown Challenge #454 hit close to home. The inspiration pic was of a Jack Russell.

My little pup Luna is a Jack Russell/Chihuahua mix so I had to make a card featuring her.

The colors this week are Green, Kraft and White.

Since I knew I was doing Luna , I did her on the obvious of grass to incorporate the green.
I blended Lucky Clover Distress Oxide and Mowed Lawn Distress Inks
and then die cut using the MFT Die-namics Grassy Fields.

I wanted clouds but didn't want to add in blue so I just die cut out of some white card stock  using the Avery Elle  Pierced Clouds Dies.

I used the Crazy Talk stamp set to add the sentiment into one of the clouds and heat embossed it with some clear embossing powder.

I colored Luna using Spectrum Noir Markers and then added some glossy accents onto the eyes and the tag on her collar. I then attached it to a white card base.

Thank you so much for joining me today and I will see you next week for another Challenge!

CTD#453: Distress Oxide Birthday Card using Lawn Fawn Happy, Happy Happy stamp set

Happy Friday!

I am back from vacation and ready to do this weeks Color Throwdown Challenge #453.
Slightly jet lagged but wanted to play so bad.

This weeks colors are Pink, Yellow and Green. I was inspired by a post on the Lawn Fawn Instagram page.

I wanted to play with my Distess Oxides. The background is not quite what I was picturing but after finished I figured would be good for a man card. Yeah it has some sequins but he will just have to get over it.. it's a birthday card and needs some sparkle.

I did the smooshing technique of putting color on the craft mat, spraying with water and smooshing the card stock into it. After each pounce I would dry with the heat tool. I used Abandoned Coral, Fossilized Amber and Lucky Clover Distrress Oxides.

The sentiments are in the same distress colors and I used the Lawn Fawn Happy, Happy Happy stamp set and dies.

Thank you for coming by and see you next time!

Color Throw down #451 using Altenew Cube Builder

Happy Wednesday!

Today's Color Throwdown Challenge had some bright summery colors
of pink, dark pink, green and white.

I had gotten in my order of the new Distress Oxide Inks and I just had to play.
I also ordered the Altenew Cube Builder Set and knew I had to combine the two.

I used Candued Apple and Worn Lipstick for the pinks. I just couldn't find a good green. Lucky Clover was too green  and Peeled Paint was too yellowy so instead i first put down the Lucky Clover and went on top with the Peeled Paint. I loved how it turned out.

This stencil was just so fun to use and the result is just incredible!

After the stenciling was done I spritzed with some shimmer spray and water to get some oxidation and sparkle happening,

I used the Hooray Stamp set by Honey Bee Stamps and the coordinating Hooray Honey cut. The Happy birthday was from the same stamp set and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

I just couldn't leave well enough alone and had to add some sequins to it.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I may be doing a challenge submission next week but I am going on vacation so I shall see how my jet lag is when I come back!
