Color Throwdown # 445 using Altenew Hennah Elements

Happy Color Throwdown Wednesday!

The colors for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge #445  are Navy, Light Pink, Gold and White

I first used a piece of Navy card stock to emboss the flowers and flourishes from the Altenew Hennah Elements stamp set.  I used Ranger Embossing Powder in Princess Gold.

I then embossed the larger flower and leaf with the same embossing powder onto some Bristol Smooth card stock. I also used some Wink of Stella on the flower to add some sparkle.

I colored them in with Spectrum Noir markers:
Flower: PP1 and PP3
Leaf: BT1 and BT4

The sentiment is from the same stamp set and heat embossed with the same gold embossing powder.
To add some interest I did a backing of velum on that white strip.

The flower is popped up with some foam dots to add some dimension. I put onto a piece of patterned paper to give that light pink background.

I made a envelope out of some white card stock  and again heat embossed a different flower from the set. I colored it in with the same Spectrum Noir markers as the flower on front.

Thank you for visiting and I will see you next week for another challenge!

Avery Elle Shine Bright Birthday and Sympathy Cards

Hello!

Today I have two cards using the fantastic Avery Elle Shine Bright stamp set
with the coordinating dies.

I got the set cause my Mother in Law loves lighthouses and knew would be perfect for her.

I blended  Distress Ink in Seedless Preserve for the sky , Fossilized Amber for the light coming from the lighthouse and a mixture of  Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean for the water.
I stamped the waves from the set also using distress ink in Broken China .

I used Tea Dye distress ink for the sand section and stamped with the same color for the rock like images.

I used the same colors for the water but added Chipped Saphhire to make it more of a nighttime sky.
I made the "light" more subdue but was also using Fossilized Amber but just no as heavy and was onto of the Seedless Preserves.

I used the following Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers to color in all the images.

I made a coordinating envelope for the birthday card to make it a fun addition to the card.

I left this envelope plain due to being a sympathy card but
loved the dark teal color to go with the card.

These were my first cards using my new set of Spectrum Noir Markers and I fell in love with them!

Thank you for visiting and I will see you next time!

MFT You Trio Die-namics and All About You Shaker card for the Color Throwdown #444 Using MFT

Happy Thursday!

I have another card for the Color Throwdown Challenge.

This weeks colors are Green , Grey and White.

I wanted to try my hand at what Jennifer McGuire showed
with using strips of card stock to make your own pattern paper.

I first used Distress inks in Pine Needles and Hickory Smoke to ink blended onto some Bristol Smooth paper and then spritzed some water to get the splotches.

I then cut it up in random sizes and attached to a card base with some tape adhesive.
I then cut it out with the large rectangle stitched die from the MFT Blueprints 13 set.

I cut out the YOU using the You Trio Die set from the MFT Sketchy Flowers Card Kit.

I also used the free with $60 banner dies to heat emboss the sentiment onto.
I also used the All About You stamp set from the same card kit.

I made the YOU be the shaker part and filled with some random white sequins, seed beads and silver chunky glitter.

Thank you so much for visiting and I will see you next week for another challenge!!

Simon Says Stamp Flora Background and Honey Bee Stamps Hooray Card

Hello Again!

Today I have a card that was a result of me just playing with some new stuff I got.  My birthday was in April and I had gotten me some fun things from Simon Says Stamp and Honey Bee Stamps.

I had gotten some Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder
on clearance at Hobby Lobby and just had to use it.

I used versa mark to stamp the SSS Flora Background stamp onto some Bristol Smooth paper and heat embossed with that beautiful Platinum Embossing Powder.

I then used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers for the water colors. i would just add some color and pull out with a water brush.

I then used some Velum to die cut the shadow of the Honey Bee Stamps Hooray Die,
which was cut from black card stock.

I just love the colors of the watercoloring with the black and platinum.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Color Throwdown #443 using MFT Bundle of Baby Clothes Dienamics and Welcome Baby Stamp Set

Happy Wednesday and welcome back to another Color Throwdown Challenge.

Unlike last week, I knew exactly what I wanted to use when
I saw that the colors were Turquoise, Grey, Yellow and White for challenge #443

.

I have been waiting for Simon Says Stamp to get the Bundle of Baby Clothes Die-namics set back in stock and like fate..the package arrived today.

The background was made with Distress Inks

Clouds: Avery Elle Pierced Clouds Die set & Tumbled Glass Distress Ink

Grass: Mowed Lawn Distress Ink

Sun: Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink and Tim Holtz Rays Layering Stencil

I die cut all the baby clothes and line using the MFT Bundle of Baby Clothes Die-namics and my random stash of pattern paper and card stock.  I also used some glossy accents onto the stars.

The sentiments on the inside and outside were stamped with Versafine and I used Recollections Clear Embossing powder for the one on the front of the card.

Thank you so much for stopping by and hopefully I will see you next week for another challenge!

Sunny Studios Daffodil Dreams Mother's Day Card

Happy Friday!

I have another card using the Sunny Studios Daffodil Dreams layering stamp set.
Daffodils are my favorite flowers so I loved playing with this set.

This is my first layering set and I really thought I would have to use a  different color for each layer.
Through playing I found that is not necessarily true.

This stamp has three layers to them and found that if I stamped twice
with the same color it made it out like I used a third ink color!

Guess what? Unlike last time, I know the Memento Dew Drop ink colors I used in this card.

First Layer: Dandelion
Second Layer: Stamped twice with Dandelion
Third Layer: Cantaloupe

The leaves were stamped with Pear Tart and New Sprout.

I used the MFT Die-namics Blueprints 13 for the the stiched rectangle white base.
I then used the MFT Rectangle Peek a Boo Window Dienamics to make a focal window. I then put some glittery tulle behind the window and then another piece of white card stock behind it.
I tucked the flowers that I fussy cut out behind the bottom of the window.

I used some pattern paper from my stash for that yellow border and then added some iridescent sequins for some sparkle.

The sentiment is from the Lawn Fawn Happy Happy Happy stamp set.

I also used the dandelion on the envelope  but since the envelope was so yellow I used Cantaloupe as the first two layers and Tangelo as the third layer.

Thank you so much for coming by to check this card out
and I will see you next time!

MFT Forever Friends for the Color Throwdown #442

Hello There!

I am back with my second time trying my hand at the Color Throwdown Challenge

The challenge colors are Kraft, Aqua, Gray and Yellow.

The card is cute but I am not sure how great for the challenge it is.

I had gotten my first cloud dies and I really was dying to use them. I also had the MFT Forever Friends stamp set and figured I would combine the two.

I knew the sky will complete the aqua bit and the bear would be the gray,
I ink blended mustard seed and a tad bit of twisted citron distress ink.

I was trying to stay in the guidelines with yellow but now i think it looks like dying grass instead of like a field or pasture which is what I was going for. LOL

Sky:
Avery Elle Pierced Clouds Die set
Tumbled Glass Distress Ink

Bear:
Green Gray, Light Gray, Light Carmine Zig Clean Color Markers

Bird:
Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean Distress Inks

I stamped a sentiment for the CZ Design Simple Sentiments stamp set in versafine and colored a heart with a Zig Clean Color Marker in Green Gray.

I matted it onto the kraft card stock then popped up with foam tape onto a white card base.

I think it is cute though uber simple even for me but I really liked how the clouds came out.

Thank you for stopping by and have a awesome day!!

Sunny Studios Daffodil Dreams Birthday Card

Welcome Back!

Today I bring to you a birthday card I made for my friend Tiffany!
I had ordered the Sunny Studios Daffodil Dreams layering stamp set and I had to play!

Yeah every flower is a different color but you know...I was ok with that and I know my bud Tiff would be too. I was playing with different Memento Dew Drop Inks and got these creations.

Are you asking what colors are used on each flower? I am too. lol

To be honest, I can not remember the combo for each but I used
Cantaloupe, Dandelion and Tangelo at some point on them.

Yeah I know, not uber helpful, I promise I am better on the next card I make with this set.

For the leaves I used Pear Tart, New Sprout and Bamboo Leaves.
Those are also Memento Dew Drop Inks.

I stamped the stems  and all the leaves but the front leaf onto the white base that I cut using the MFT Wonky Stitched die set.  I then fussy cut the flowers and leaf. I liked the idea of the one leaf being raised and adds dimension.

I used the sentiment from the set and heat embossed in white on black card stock.  I used some pattern paper to have just a peek of green around the edge.

I then added some sparkle with iridescent sequins.

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Have a awesome day!

Engagement card using Simon Says Stamp Cora Background Stamp

Happy Saturday!
Today I have a Engagement card I made for my sis in law and soon to be brother in law.
I thought the SSS Cora background would be great since all those hearts in the background

I heat embossed with Ranger Fine Detail Embossing Powder and then wanted to do some water coloring with Distress Inks.
I was making the card for both of them so I did not want the colors to be overly girly.

The colors I used were:
Abandoned Coral
Hickory Smoke
Mowed Lawn
Peacock Feathers and Salty Ocean  (mixed on craft mat)

I do not have any Engagement stamps so I spelled out the sentiment
using the Concord and 9th Perfectly Penned Stamp Set.
I popped it up on some foam tape and placed the whole piece onto a grey card base.

I wanted the envelope to look special too and used the SSS Sending Flowers Stamp Set . I made the envelope from the same Michaels Recollections card stock as I used in the card base.

I hope you have a great weekend and I will see you next time!

Simon Says Stamp Emma Background and Distress Watercoloring

Happy Wednesday!

Today I am sharing my first ever attempt at a Color Throwdown Challenge.
I am in Mother's Day card mode so of course that is what I made today.

The colors for this weeks Color Throwdown #441 are
pale purple, aqua and light pink.

I used Versamark to stamp the Simon Says Stamp Emma Background Stamp and heat embossed with Ranger white embossing powder onto some  Bristol Smooth cardstock.

I then watercolred it with Distress Inks. I used Tumbled Glass, Spun Sugar and Milled Lavender.

The sentiment is from the Lawn Fawn Happy Happy Happy stamp set.
I again heat embossed in white and water colored with the same Distress inks and popped up with some foam tape onto the background after matting everything in black to make it all pop!

Thank you for stopping by and I will see you next time!
